The “There should be a beer named”….Hall of Fame Update

                              HallOfFame

In my world, I have 2 entrants in my “There should be a beer named after Them”…Hall of Fame

1) The IBM Black team who was my inaugural inductee on June 18, 2009.  Their story should be taught everywhere. I first blogged about them here.

                                 IBM

2) Douglas Engelbart inducted February 1, 2010.  The man who gave what has forever known as the Mother of all Demos. Check out this link if you don’t know who he is.

So it looks like at current pace I am inducting 1 new member a year……..

3) so my inductee for 2011? – well, its my first non-Computer Science winner  This kid, a 15 year old boy named Parker without a date for his homecoming who just happens to ask visiting Olympic Gold skier Lindsey Vonn to be his date and she accepts – the author of the attached news report said it best “On behalf of every guy who was too afraid to ask the hot girl to the dance, we salute you Parker.”  (Brad – I am just assuming this kid will grow up to be a software developer and make shy people everywhere proud)

Throw in Nicolas Cage or John Cusack as his non-conformist teacher or advisor daring their kids to greatness, and this could be a John Hughes movie – Brad
